To me, this isn't like the typical "does a throttle body spacer workz?" kind of question, this is about safety. I could give a crap less if someone wants to take their swaybar out and injures themselves. What I have issue with is that I or someone I love may have to share the road with someone like this. The fact that people on here truly believe that they can drive and be prepared for whatever may happen is just ridiculous. They were put on at the factory. Not as an add-on but as a safety device. What's next? "I can has remove my brakes?! I'z gud driverz I don need em'! I alwayz prepard!" And op is from western pa like me.

You make a good point but its hard to take you serious when you type like a 12 yr old retard.

Again, its not a safety device....its an addition to a suspension setup for high COG vehicles. If you get in a situation where wild steering and manuevering is necessary, chances are your gonna flip anyways, its a jeep.

How would you hurt yourself removing one? Dropping it on your toe?

The twelve year old retard quotes were me imagining the thought process of an individual that would do this on a dd.

This issue is beat to death.. Swaybars=good on road manners. No swaybars= sweet flex.. So if you drive your jeep on the road and can afford to put gas in the damn thing buy a set of discos but if your worth your salt just make a set.. My jeep personally has none but it's never on the road..

Might as well leave your seatbelt off too, that way you will be thrown from the vehicle and not get hurt!

x2. There may or may not be any legal requirements to having an anti-sway bar. But you can bet your *** that if you were in an accident that somehow "wronged" another party whether through injury or damage, that they'll have a trained inspector take a little peak at your now wrecked and rolled vehicle. And they "will" build a case

Sorry for the repost. Stupid touch screen.

Really? Way to add another super mature comment to the thread.

This topic is beat to h3ll and back...keep them or don't, its a personal preference. We all take responsibility for our actions and how we drive. And no one can predict other drivers/obstacles/animals on the road.

Im out!

A sway bar isnt a safety device like a seatbelt, airbag, etc.

Really? Then why did the manufacturer see fit to make sure that every xj that left the factory had one to fit within their defined handling parameters. And arguing whether it's a safety device or not isn't going to be a defense in a court of law. They were put on to improve handling. To remove it is negligence. Guilty guilty guilty!

is a strut tower bar a safety device? it improves handling as well, and isnt a federally mandated piece of safety equipment, nor is a sway bar.

Ok, way to attempt to make an argument. I'm done with this. Endanger yourselves. Whatever. It's on you if you kill someone with your negligence.
