I'm a newbee here.

Working on replacing front sway bar links on my 95 XJ country and the torx bolt that holds the lower linkage just snapped.
Does anyone know where to look to buy this exact torx bolt?

I snapped off one of mine earlier this summer when I removed my front sway bar...............


My lift kit came with new bolts to replace them with..........But I could never get the original ones out of the brackets. They are seized in there pretty good.


When the time comes for me to put my front sway bar back on, I will probably cut/grind off what's left of the bolt, and drill the hole out to use the new bolts that I have............


I imagine you would have a hard time finding the factory original style, unless a Chrysler/Jeep dealer had some laying around.........

 

Torx bolts suck.
Cut it off and drill it out.
Go to hardware store and get a hex head.
Problem solved

 

There pressed in the bracket. Try hammering them out ....

While I was browsing more threads, I saw posts showing a puller that they use to push the pin out. So I'm going to try that as my last resort.
I guess the pin has been sitting there for the last 20 years completely rusted out, so it probably has become an happy one piece altogether with the bracket by now. I'll see if the puller works tomorrow...

I've hammered it like Berserker but I guess it rusted out so much and it looks like I can't beat it. Thanks for the pic, tho. I guess I can try heat the bracket with a burner and try hitting it again tomorrow if the puller doesn't work.

Alot of auto parts will rent pullers nowadays.

 

Are those little "splines" that you can see protruding a bit under the head?

 

The site where freegdr 's pic came from, mentioned heating + hammer as the method that worked to remove that bolt.

 

Picked up a pitman arm puller at AutoZone last night and it worked like a charm! Thanks for all your help here.

 

Called a couple of dealers nearby but no luck so far.
Like 884x4 said, I guess I'll stop by a hardware shop and pick them up.

use a socket thats over sized and a c clamp that you can use an impact on, it will push it out

just play video and it should go to that spot if not its @ 9:15 or somthing
