Swapping from 2WD to 4WD
I have decided to swap my 01 2WD drive to 4WD. I believe I have all the parts as I have a few 4WDs. I am checking to see if the these year models seem ok? Complete front axle from 96,transmission/transfer case driveshafts, etc. for a 99? I have 2 other 99's one hit in front and do not want to take chance on axle damage and the other 99 is a manual. Thanks!

Yes that is what you need plus the linkage and center console. Some of the dash lights are wired in but no bulbs are in place. If you want that part to work then you will have to put the bulbs in place too.
Good luck and if you would take the time to take pics and do a short writeup then we can include it in our tech section for future people who may want to convert to 4WD.
Thanks.

Skiebuster I converted a '96 and had it complete in a weekend but I did have a lift. Could be done in a driveway in a few days I am sure.
I will take pictures as I swap it. If you read my other posts have a leaking (works pefect) trans in my 2wd drive. My thought considering I would have to pull it, pay someone to repair it. I will come out cheaper because I have the parts and it mainly my time not money I'm using. I have a lift and feel I can do it in 2 days also. I plan on swapping the trans/transfer case first. If I need it for some reason I could drive it with the front axle not swapped. I have looked at the front end and looks straight forward a lot of unbolting and bolting. I have not looked close enough at the front axle and assume somewhere on it is where the vacuum lines hook up? Thanks for the help and anything else I might need to know! Since I had it I have hated it not being a 4x4 but I have enjoyed the 20+ mpg on the highway.

If you have the vacuum disco axle then it is on the passenger side. Some did not have a disco setup. So you may avoid that little hassle. What transfercase are you using 231 or 242? If it is a 242 then you will not have or need a disco. HTH
