Is it possible you could have pulled the wires a bit when pulling it out,you can check it with an ohm meter,just disconnect it and check across both terminals,it should read open,mine actually reads about 11-13 on the 20 scale. You said you have spark earlier,but you thought it was weak. If you have good comp,good fuel supply,spark,and in time,it has to run. One of them is not correct.

mixed89 tyvm for the input. i was starting to think that was my problem. time for another out and in. 3x a charm? lol sry im just frustrated so bad that humor is my only defense. good luck op.

fixed it guys. Thanks for all the help. My buddy apparently didnt know how to time and it was 180 out.

lucky dawg. i wish mine was that easy. im gearing up to pull engine out and switch flex plates some time this week. but before i do, i wanted to be sure that the flex plates are not the same. seeing as there is quite a bit of work to be avoided if the flex plates are the same. any input greatly appreciated. 1991 HO motor, going into 1990 renix setup.

The flexplates on a 91 are different than a 90,they will not interchange,the tone ring on the 91 is much longer than the 90. Everything changed in 91 from the renix system to the chrysler system.

you the man m89. thanx very much for the clarification. im gonna get to work asap on switchin flex plates out. then ill be that much closer to driving my jeep around. had to buy an 85 ford 1/2 ton in the mean time. i gotta do the tps sensor adapter thing too. not lookin forward to it but it has to be done. thanks a effin million guys.
