Default Sunk My XJ

Hey guys, Last friday night i sunk my stock xj in a small lake. Water was up to the fender flares and there was about a foot of water inside the truck. It was only in the water for about 5 mins. Its starts fine, however with the throttle position sensor pluged in, it automatically goes to 2800RPM on start up and it wont let the throttle go. I went though everything I could think of, We changed the oil, and diff oil. I replaced the distributor cap and rotor (also dried out every electrical connection I could see with wire dryer". I replaced the Throttle position sensor and the map sensor, along with the mass air flow sensor. When you unplug the throttle position sensor it will drop the RPM's to normal but it doesnt want to idle. Any Ideas as to what might be going on?

Water didnt hit the dash inside the jeep. Im thinking it might be the crankshaft position sensor, what do you guys think?

(pic related, my xj )

I think you should buy your buds a drink. Where I come from you have to hook up your own tow strap. Thats a GOOOOODDD friend there.

As far as your question...sorry can't help ya but Im sure others will.

Mine dose this to after a trip under water but lately unplugging the tps doesn't work I have to pull vacuumed to mass air and it screws up the timing enough to run without having to smoke the breaks to idle around but I can't figure out why it usually quits when it drys out I have hosed the crap out of her and can't get it to screw up must have to be submerged

In case anyone else is experiencing this problem. It was my clock spring. After hours of reasearch I found out that the TPS is grounded to the Clock Spring.

I see your buddy on the roof is just drinking a beer watching you being stuck and your other buddy hooking up the strap. Good friend! Haha

i would look into do something else with the intake forsure, the cowel snorkle or a real snorkle. the stock box sits too low and wayy to easy to get submerged.
