How bad have you sunk your XJ?
I sunk my XJ about hood deep in water, completely flooded the interior, thank god I have a rhino-lined inside
What sort of things will this damage? I killed the engine, pulled it out with friends XJ and then let it sit to dry off. I've pulled apart the intake and no water was sucked up the engine but it won't start.
I don't have any pics but I do have a video I'll post later of the water before I went through the one that killed me.
Lets see your sunk pics/videos and hear your stories!

water in the distributor isn't uncommon.
check your fuse box.
does your starter click or does it crank?
ALWAYS pull out your rugs. those ****ers don't dry.

sank mine in about 4 ft of water or so. engine never died and kept running. Had to rip the carpet out and bake it dry in one of the houses at work. Took a week for the carpet to dry out in 160 degree heat. Took me three days of working nonstop to get it back to being on the road. took this right before i sank it further in trying to get it out.

Sunk both front and rear diffs in this sandy soup!
And the sand took most of the paint off the front and rear drive shafts
My buddies 8000lb warn not even move it, or a v8 zj and a older 4runner tied together
All we had to do was high lift the front and rear ends, and fill the holes the tires made
and she drove right out, every time we cranked the high lift up, the body would move up
and the axles would slowly unsuck after lol.

I've had mud, silt, and water up to the turn signals on my XJ (keep in mind Im on a 3 inch lift and 31s). There was 4 inches of water in the footwells and it took over a week to get the carpet dry. My buddy's 4x4 V8 F150 couldn't pull me out, so I had to have a flatbed tow truck pull me out with a winch. It took the tow truck driver a maximum of 5 minutes to get me out, but he ended up blowing my right rear tire in the process. Thank god I have an extended warranty on my tires

Swan dive!!
After being parked like this for 15 minutes, it finally died. Resulted in needing a new starter, alternator, and getting all the sand out of the electrical fan motor.
