I put an overhead console in my jeep the other day. The factory sun visors are now to long and hit console before sitting in their normal spot. I cannot use my visors now, basically. Are the visors that came with xjs with overhead consoles shorter, or something?

Can you live with yourself if the visors hit it a little?
Id just not worry about it or buy sunglasses. As for the shorter visors, I think they are the same just somehow offset a little more.

I put an overhead console in also. The sun visors are a set back just a little bit, but the length is perfect because they do fit in the new visor holders on the overhead console. are your visors hitting the console before the holders?

hmmm, mine doesn't have new visor slips built into it. mine must be from a minivan or something then because i got it from a buddy who was going to put it into his xj but ended up giving the xj to his mom.
they hit at about a 20 degree angle, no where close to being usable. i have to pull them way down and slide them past the rear view mirror and the console to get them to be able to be used as visors and hten when you want to put them up you have to pull them back down and yank them around. if you don't they mess up the mirror

yes, there are different lengths...i put a console in my 87, and had to get the visors and the clips from the donor vehicle too. you will need to drill and relocate the new clips for the visor.
i guess tux beat me to it.

Sorry. I just am in junkyards all the time and noticed that there are two different lengths for sunvisors. I am actually thinking about swapping mine over to the longer ones because I have a 2 door and I am tall so I dont want an overhead console.
