lookin for some advice, maybe a link o one of your guys builds or pics, know some ppl have done it
so...
i have a 6" skyjacker kit with there control arm brackets il post a pic of it
im thinking about moving the brackets back along the frame rails and making a long arm kit
gonna use tie rod tube off of a peterbuilt for the control arms, its over 1/4 wall tubing, closer to 1/2 no way it will bend
gonna see if i can clean it up and try and get some hiems and weld in bungs
probably gonna look for a 44 front and lift it up to 8"ish
just kicking around ideas for now, let me know what you guys think
any and all suggestions welcome

I don't think you can move those brackets any farther back on the "frame" but you can build a custom cross member to attach a radius arm set up to which is what most companies sell and others build.

im starting my la kit this weekend that im making.
look at the clayton cross member. dont try to keep those brackets just make a cross member for a la kit
for your heims look at ruffstuffspecialties.com thats where i got my stuff and dan the owner is awesome and the parts are about the best you can get.
a custom la kit is definitely worth it if you can do it. i have bout 500 bucks into mine. that beats 1200 plus
and you can also say you made it yourself

i would def tie both frame rails together with a crossmember and then mount the control arms to the crossmember. If you can fabricate and weld, and your doing that much work, look into making some frame stiffeners while your at it.

You are making a lot of work for yourself. Just save the back part and cross member and go from there. You have to remove the old lower link brackets on the frame when you go long arm anyway.
