maybe you should post in cherokee chat instead of a build tread.

either buy a lift kit or hombrew lift. i recomend buying a 3 inch rough country lift its cheap and efficient..

If you are going to use that lift with the spacers in the front, you will also need to get new shocks and extend bumpstops. Then the kit is not so cheap. If you don't you can rip the end off the shock. A better way might be to get something like a Skyjacker front spring whick allows you to use the same shocks etc, and an add a leaf for now, which also allows you to use the stock shocks.

ok if you didnt need shocks for a 3 inch kit then why do so many companies include them with a 3 inch kit the dont with a budget boost but look your not going to rip the end of a shock with a 3 inch lift and 31s...but why not do it right...?yea go buy skyjacker springs and use stock shocks, limit your travel with them and damage them because they will be extended more limiting your travel putting stree on them while your new lift is articulating. you will spend close to the same just with springs so why not spend a little extra?

for 250.00 get new springs, and shocks you will be happier with it...

Front:
3" lifted coil springs.

Rear: Add-a-leaf springs and hardware.

Shocks: Kit includes (4) Hydro 8000 series shocks

if you cant afford to lift it right or in a way that it will perform like oem or better then dont save money.

First of all, a budget boost is a budget boost. People buying don't want to spend one more dime than they have to, so some companies will offer shocks, most won't. That is how they sell.

Second, not all three inch front springs are equal. I mentioned Skyjacker because I have some in my scrap pile. Rancho does the same thing. The shocks they sell for these are stock length because the springs are stock length, so you won't ruin a stock shock with these. Why do it like this? It is cheaper and you don't to include things like brake lines and extended bump stops that raise the price of the kit.

If you don't have any money, Why do you need a lift? seems like everyone that comes to this site with a stock jeep thinks that they must have lift. To lift your vehicle and have it safe to drive on the street or trail costs money to set it up correctly.

THE END!!!

I agree. I got my cherokee from a DAPO that had put some crazy shackels on the rear sprigs that were de arched and some ghetto spacers IN the springs not on top. I had to wait and wait and wait but when i got the money i got the parts i needed to make it right. You shouldnt cobble something together as it may not perform or be the safe way to do it. It sucks but sometimes you should just wait. BUT on the other hand i am very happy with my lift from Rough Country, the shocks arent the greatest, in fact they are crap but that is something that is easily upgradeable later....

well the junkyards around my area think they got gold in their parts so what it would cost me to do a homebrew lift and still have to buy shocks why not just get a rough country 3" lift? thats what im saving for and i suggest the same to you. good luck

DO IT RIGHT. I got no cash either. And ya, it sucks looking at all the other XJ's with lifts and badass tires. Yup it sucks. but most of the Jeeps that look cool where done the right way. The right way being Time and Money. Save and do it right, Thats what I'm doing with my stocker. The cheap way is'nt so cheap 1 year later.

Look dude if you even look here again. if you want to lift your jeep save your fawkin money, buy a nice kit and do things right.

on the note BLKXJ 96 made ....why is there so many damn guys on here with a stock jeep is either lookin to have a built rig to take to the hammers for under a grand or wants everything free?

and why are there so many f-ing write ups on fog lights, painting valve covers, "which looks better the red seat cover or the green one" my jeep is blue. im going to paint flames in rhino liner soon.." why cant there be more quality installs and talk about things that matter, i understand the need for pointless tech help sometimes people need help but come on if you wanna fix your jeep up learn the **** and then save your money dont just do every usless install you can for under 50 bux....cb radios? how many of you actually use them? , i say skip everything, plate the frame, hack the body swap d60's and run 40s on a 5 inch lift... and call it a day..
and one more thing some of these guys really crack me up with their sig lines....mine was a sarcastic joke but it stayed...
