Really tho, have u pissed anyone off lately? When I was in the Army one of my buds had an x-girlfriend put a fish in his car up under the seat in the springs. It took him 3 weeks to find it. Car never did smell right after that... it's hot in San Antonio.

I had this issue one time. Man are they messy to clean up. Damn things practically explode and get parts everywhere under the hood

It sounds like a solid case of "perma-rot". Sure you didnt push some gasious fast-food leftovers into your seat cushions? Does it get worse when you sit in the seat?

I find mouse evidence on the intake manifold sometimes. Also possible for a small critter to crawl up the evap tube and die

I found a mouse nest under the rear seat one time, jute padding from the front seat and turds laying around, still don't know how he got in

My previous jeep ( a black 00 limited) I had a gallon of water and bust open in the back seat AND the way back near the spare. After a few hours in the hot sun that jeep would smell like absolute death.
My girlfriend wouldn't set foot inside. Not even 6 black ice air fresheners could come close to masking the smell

Thanks for the help all. It was a package a deli meat that someone else did indeed leave in my truck (accidentally).
It was in the passenger seat, snagged on the rail closest to the center console.
This is why it was so hard to see, and looks like moving the seat back and forth during the heater/evap core install ripped the package open.
Holy hell Im glad that's over!

There's nothing in the interior, so I don't think I could have missed anything.
Thoughts?
Hi!
Did you ever figure out what it was? My car just did the same.

Thx.
