Subwoofer installation help
I need to connect the wires from the amp to the battery. Can anyone help me as to doing that, or is there a simpler way to doing it besides drilling a hole.

Cause you need to look from the outside in, not inside out, raise the hood and look for a hole going to the inside. If you can't find one big enough, drill one.

like they said just go through the hole in the firewall that is already there....it may act like it dont wanna fit but it will go. It's on the drivers side BTW. I have wires for my fogs, and several other wires along with the 4 gauge running to my amp all through that one hole....so i know it will work Then you just run it under the panel on the drivers side (cant really help you with the panel thats held down by the seatbelt, i just kind shoved it in there.)

I ran mine through the grommet that also houses the hood release cable. But I drive 95. My brother had an '01 and I do remember having a problem finding a spot so maybe they aren't the same

another trick is to take an old arrow, that the inside dia is larger than the wire you are running, saw it off at an angle on one end, kinda like a spear. then cut the other end off straight. take the pointed end and use the point to pierce thru the rubber grommet. once you push it thru, find it in the engine bay and start feeding the wire thru the arrow from inside the engine bay. once you get the wire in the cab, pull the arrow back into the cab. just be careful not to shove it thru any wires. used to do stereo for a long while after high school.

I like to keep the amp power on the same side as the battery, so I pull back the carpet under the passenger side near the firewall and drilled a hole there. The hole is right where the firewall takes a curve (on my 96, just to the right of the canister in the engine bay when looking in the engine bay). Nice and clean, and out of the way.
