I have a single 12" fozgate on the pass side rear just behind the back seat... the amp is bolted to it..
plenty of sound and bass and no heating issues

Mine was under the rear seat and it would over heat and rattle because of the odd compartment shape. also I noticed that if you have the slightest water leak in the far back or just spill, the unibody floor routes the water below the back seat and then through drain holes to the front of the car by the drain plugs. but anyway, I just redid the rear of my jeep, painted trim, installed fire extinguisher, painted my roof on inside, replaced the carpet on my rear seat with heavy vinyl rubber mat, and mounted my amp to the seat so the soare tire sheilds and conceals it. my sub is out in the pic obviously.
I do have one question (I hope im not thread jacking but its just it looks like there's a bunch of knowledgeable people here) so I just replaced my battery cables and battery. ever since, my sub just doesnt sound the same as it used to. I did make adjustments on tuning freequency but usually im pretty good and I cant get it. It used to almost shake my rear view off but now it will hit good bass in some parts of some songs but not the same. I do transfer my sub in and out alot and saw the wire ends for the sub look a little beat up but not bad. any Ideas? Dual 600 watt & 2 12" dual kickers.

I hook up alot of systems and I can tell you your better off mounting the amp to the back or top of your subs. When your running power through your car like that it's best to keep it in eyes view because wires can come loose and start fires. Your amp needs to vent also to work at it's best. For the ? About subs not being as loud, defiently double check your wire connections cuz it sounds like your lacking power. Clean your battery post with a wire brush and crank that post on. Check your ground wire also.
I'm thinking of mounting everything directly to the box, And make everything "Quick" Dissconnect ! So I can basically "Unplug" it and take it out when I need space or access..etc .. Just a Thought !!
