Default Stupid Question

Ok...so I am going to buy 2 new tires for my 95 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 4WD. Only 2 right now as that is all I can afford. Going to replace with Goodyear Wrangler tires. Now, the stupid question is...................do they go on the front or back?

I tend to lean towards the front & take it easy on turns & pulling out.

Id probably put them on the back until you get your other 2 and then rotate the tires.

Back.
Less tread in the rear is no good and can result in skids on corners.

Been there.. Done that.

Front.....100% of your steering and 75% of braking.

X2. Check with the tire manufacturers. They all recommend putting the best tires on the front, no matter which end is driven. Promotes better handling and thus safety.

That is incorrect. One would think for a RWD you would put them on the Back and on a FWD the front but thats incorrect.

Jeeping dan is correct. Always, always, ALWAYS put your best tires on the rear on the vehicle. This will keep the rear of the car in the rear, not beside you or ahead of you.

Pick up the phone and call some local tire dealers and see if they verify this.

Well if you have a blow out on the front end with your new tire's in the back that wont help out the people in the car you run into or the person you hurt or kill when you go in the ditch, etc. You can still handle the jeep if a rear tire blow's out in the rear. So if you say front I would think you would be safe, if you think rear well I don't beleive your much of a thinker more or less a Simpleton!
