OK. I glued that thing on TWICE with this little packet of Permatex glue from Advance Auto. Fell off both times.

Anybody know what kind of voodoo I have to do to get this stupid mirror to stay up?

Let it sit without the mirror for 24 hours before hanging the mirror back on, and follow the directions to the letter.

And cleanliness of the glass is next to godliness for that fix.

The instructions said 2 minutes for the activator to dry then one drop of adhesive, hold 1 minute, then wait 15 minutes.

Didn't work. I left it an hour or so and it popped off instantly when I attached the mirror.

I'm gonna try Loctite...and do what you suggest and leave it for a day. My wife hates driving this with no inside mirror. Me? I could care less but SWMBO wants a mirror.

the permatex kit works great if prepped properly. i cleaned the window fist with brake clean and a clean rag, then window cleaner and a different rag. then followed the insturctions to a T. the mirror came of only when i rolled my monte carlo, and it took a chunk of the uncracked windshield with it. that my friend is serious adhesion

If you have to use Permatex there are two kinds, one is for extreme conditions (High Heat) use that one.

I have used both locktight and permatex with good results, Razor blade, then clean with rubbing alchohol, then take the button and hit it with the wire wheel or emery cloth and use the alchohol on it as well
Good luck!

don't lose your time. Take it to the autoglass shop. I've gone through all those products and it didn't work. They used a special windshield glue and it didn't fall off.

Gave up on trying to glue the mirror and went to the local glass shop. $5 and about 5 minutes later, the mirror is on and rock solid.

Forget buying little mirror glue packets for $4...go to a glass shop.
