Okay so i have an 01 cherokee and a couple of weeks ago i changed the oil right before my 4 hour trip home from college. changed the oil started it up no leaks, drove it back to my house from the shop (approx 3 miles) still no leaks. the next day I had my long drive home. 2 hours into the trip I pull into the off ramp and my oil pressure drops to 1/4 the way up the gauge when normally it never goes below half. so i look under the jeep at the gas station and there is a sever leak coming from what looks like the oil filter. so I ran over to a auto parts store and got a new filter (thinking i may have made a rookie mistake and left the extra gasket on there or just a bad filter) changed the filter and added oil and continued my drive, got off at the next town to check it and its still leaking pretty bad. It doesn't leak one drop when I'm going <60 but when I go 75+ it leaks quite bad. even had a mechanic friend look at it and he confirmed it looked like it was from the oil filter area.... wth can it be since its not the filter?

Probably blew the oil filter adaptor o ring. Not a huge deal and very easy to replace. If you look, the oil filter attaches to basically an elbow that attaches to the block. If you take off the oil filter, then take off the adaptor, there's 3 o rings, one big one and 2 smaller ones. The best place to get these is from the dealer for only a few bucks
