So I messed up my laternator in the mud (long story short) and I cant for the life of me get the top bolt out. I can turn it if I put a wrench on it and stand on the wrench or use a long breaker bar, and it makes the sound simular to breaking lug nuts. But it wont back out. I keep thinking there must be some sort of trick to it because its in there good. also used a half can of wd40 and I cant get any leverage to hit it with anything : /

If I remember right there is a nut on the other side. It does not thread into the alternator.

 

Theres is a nut behind that bolt you have to remove then the big bolt pulls out

 

Yeah I had taken it off already. I ended up taking off my ac and just beating it out with a hammer. I think the bolt is ok but I'll have to get a new nut
