Default Straps on 89 XJ Slave Cylinder

I have an 89 cherokee, just replaced the throw out bearing/slave cylinder combo, do I remove the nylon straps once it's installed on the trany and before I install the trany in the rig? Or do they pop themselves during the bleeding procedure?

Don't cut the straps. Install it with the straps still on the cylinder.
After installation, the cylinder will break the straps the first time you bleed the cylinder and pump up the clutch.

If you cut the straps before installation, you will have a problem.

Don't worry about the broken straps.

Awesome thank you for the great info, that's what I figured since they seemed like they would break since it's meant to push against alot of resistance. Thanks for putting my mind at ease seeing as I've already got it installed all I have left is putting the drivelines back in, so that would have been alot to have to re-do

I Left the straps on because the instructions on the LUK clutch kit that I put in my 88 Comanche specifically stated not to remove them.
I believe it's got something to do with getting the air out of the slave cylinder if it's installed with it extended.

I installed my new clutch kit over 2 years ago, and I haven't had one problem since.
