Default strange engine stalling

This is the first time my jeep die on me. I was making a slow U turn and ran into a small patch of snow. I didn't engage the 4WD since only a small area of road is covered with snow/ice. As expected, the tire started slipping during the turn. What surprised me is that the engine suddenly quit on me, although the electricity was still on. The jeep can be restarted without any difficulties. I am confused what caused this engine stalling upon slippage? Should I be concerned with the possible engine stalling under other driving condition (like freeway)?

The stalling is probably just "coincidental" to the road condition.

See if it happens again. If it does, it could be the "crankshaft position sensor" acting up, which is not uncommon.
