Stop mold?
I just bought a 2000 Jeep Cherokee about a week ago, and some to find out its leaking when it rains in to the drivers and passangers side floor. I have weatherproof caulked the **** out of my weather seal around my window, but it still leaking; its not as bad, but still leaking. My aunt, who was a mechanic (now she hooks up engines at Ford), said that it might be body welds. She had a Cherokee and it was just the shield for her, but it may be something different for me. I have no idea where the damn water is leaking from, so is there anyway i could spray something on my floor to stop mold? I would really like to rip up the carpet and put rhino lining down (not the spray, but the sheet) but i dont have the money to do that. I dont want my car to be moldy... yuck!

I currently work for a flood restoration company, any product we use you must have a certification to buy. Google PRS products, or shockwave. But I would t even bother. Just rip the carpet out

You could use a mild solution of bleach water, something like a teaspoon/gallon and test it first to see if it "bleaches" your carpet, but if it just keeps leaking, you will have to just keep cleaning it and eventually it will probably bleach it.
Check around the heater box, and the front cowling (under the wipers) for leaks.
From the FWIW files:
Bleach doesn't kill mold in carpeting. The Chlorine can't penetrate porous materials, it sits on the surface while the water in the bleach penetrates. The mold comes right back.
Use a mixture of water, hydrogen peroxide and Borax instead.
Pull the carpets and let them dry. Vacuum thoroughly with a HEPA filter vacuum.
Soak with borax/water/hydrogen peroxide solution.
Do NOT rinse... let it air dry. The borax will remain after it dries and will keep killing residual mold. And it won't bleach out your carpet.
You really have to pull the carpets. Jeep used a carpet backer that makes a super sponge. The carpet will feel dry, but water lurks underneath. One reason the floors rot out so easily..

as for the OP. you must stop the source of the mold first and foremost. once you cut off the water drip, pull the carpet, dry the interior. get yourself a gallon of microban from jon don and after you scrub the sheet metal, spray it down. have the carpet you pull up steam extracted if it looks saveable, then spray it down with microban after it dries.
mold is a really simple organism that absolutely depends on a food source. once the humidity goes down and the water is gone the treatment can begin
if you plan on lining the whole thing i would absolutely rip it all out now. just for health reasons if nothing else

and bleach is worthless for mold, and will actually feed the mold it doesn't kill.

Lol yes microban will definitely do it. It might be like calling the fire department to put out your camp fire but if you can get your hands on it more power to you. Make sure you have all your doors open when your spraying it. Really though just remove all porous material and wipe it down. I believe microban asks to be diluted 1 part to 4 parts water. I dont really remember, we stopped using it. It's harsh stuff.
