Default stock jeeps with dana 30/35 with 4.56 gears?

After surfing the interwebs for a bit. I have yet to find anything about any jeeps that came from factory with dana 30/35 with 4.56 gears. I picked up a set from a local yard with 4.56 gears. I have a 87xj. They bolted up no problem. The tags are gone so cant get any numbers. I was told by a buddy that the xj with the diesel came with the 4.56 gears... but he is a unreliable bullsh$#ter so im at a loss... wanna pick up a locker and need to find out sline counts. So i get the right one. Anyone have any input on this would be great.

Yeah.. thats what i was leaning towards it being in 4cyl. But for the price i could not say no.. paid 300 for the pair.. i would love to have done a d44 swap but dont have the funds at the time. thanks for the info.
Any idea of a year they came in? Im sure its pre 90s its vacuum actuated locking for the 4wd. But u think its 86-89 range? Just tryin to find some oem specs on em.

Maybe 84-86 range. They're really old. Might even be non-C-clip

The tag on the diff lol. What are you looking for inside? The ratio? Count number of pinion rotations to how many axle rotations you get.

As far as I'm aware all D35s had 27-spline axle shafts from the factory

Yep, the rare 2.5L AW/4 combo.

Most 2.5's got a different auto and either 4:10 or 3:73's.

Is it a CAD D30 up front?

I know its old but figured I would add for future readers.

I did find a 1987 4cyl auto with Dana 30/35 with factory 4.56s at the JY. It was also a CAD axel. Bought the 30 for $89 had less than 170k on it. Deleted the CAD and and put a 8.8 in the back.
