Default Stiff locks

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site, and working on cars/Jeeps in general. I have a Jeep 1996 Cherokee Sport and have problems with the locks. The first problem I had was with the exterior locks being extremely stiff (stuck the key in and tried turning the key and it wouldn't turn all of the way) after spraying some graphite in the locks, everything seems to be working fine now. The next problem, which I haven't solved, is the locks on the inside, when using the power locks, the locks don't always unlock (have to push unlock multiple times to get it to unlock), manually pushing the locks seem somewhat stiff as well. Any ideas what I am going to need to do to get them to work? I just ordered a replacement Viper 560vx remote start/keyless entry/alarm for it (the old IR remote went swimming and I want to move away from the IR key less entry) and I want to make sure that it works when I do get it installed. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

I had the same problem with my 96. mine sat for over a year before i got it tho. i was already replacing the beat up door panels but when they are off just blast the door mechanism with wd-40 and work the locks a few times. that worked for me.

x2 the mechanisms get very rusty, just did my buddies 99, pull the door panels and wd 40 or pb blast em, work em a few times and grease em, you should be all good. worst case is you gotta buy a new mechanism, from the dealer they are a little pricey tho
