Default Steering wheel.

Is it possible to take and older XJ steering wheel like from an 89 then install it in my 97? But also while wiring the cruise control back in?
Or would i need the whole steering column?
I just really like the feel and look of the older steering wheel and thought it would look cool.
and i dont see why not just wanted to make sure before.

It should at least bolt up dont know what to tell ya about cruise. My cruise didnt work until I replaced the clock spring when I did my steering wheel and when I hit the button for it itll go full throttle to 5-15mph over what I was trying to set it at. Not sure if its my cruise control module screwing up or if its because of the clock spring I used.

Well I had the idea of wiring my cruise controlled to some switches then mounting them on my dash.
