Steering stabilzer wont come off!!!!!

Default Steering stabilzer wont come off!!!!!

So i am replacing my factory stabilzer with a after market one, and i got both the bolts of but the thing wont budge!! Anyone ever try getting these dang things off? Any tricks??/

Put the nuts back on half way and bang it with a BFH until it comes off...Tj

1: what in the world is a BFH

2: explain this in detail... i dont quite understand this method?

It will keep you from messing up the threads. You can rent a tool from most auto parts stores that is made to remove the bolt from the drag link but I have always used the BFH method. But once you use the hammer there is no going back.

I would rent a 2 jaw puller .It better than possibly bendding stuff in the process of whacking it.

i used a pitman arm/balljoint puller on mine, but if your have a c-clamp that might work too

heres a hi-res pic (sorry if you have a small screen)

left it at full res so you could see whats going on.
After i tightened it as tight as i could, i gave it a solid whack with the hammer and it popped out.

wish i did this first because i spent 2 days with mapp gas and a BFH and it didnt budge.

I used a Pickle fork, paid 10 bucks at autozone for it.

keep hitting it, and hit it harder. its beveled so its been squished in there from the years of use

harbor freight ....get one of those all rubber plastic hammer....best tool behind the breaker bar
