I know Monroe is good, but I would read reviews of them. KYB is better for 4x4 my dad says, I never heard much of them.

 

Man, I didn't know Blistein made a steering stabilizer for the XJ..... I'd DEFINITELY go with that one

Edit: Had I known Blistein makes a stabilizer, I wouldn't have even looked around for any other brand

 

Hey guys, I know I'm digging this up a little bit, but I was looking to get a new steering stabilizer to make my steering a little more comfortable (I drive 50+ miles a day to/from work) and I came across this thread. I got a little eager when I saw that Bilstein made a damper for the XJ and just bought it from Serious. Now that I have the confirmation email, I noticed that it specifies its for a JK. I was just curious if there are any problems with putting this in an XJ, cause I read that some people have had no issues, but some people have put a damper meant for a JK and it feels like it is always puling to the left, due to the JK damper being about an inch longer. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thanks

 

Actually what you ordered was a JK stabilizer, Bilstein does not make an xj stabilizer.

 

I got a little excited thinking that it would work after seeing it here, haha.

So will it work? I understand it will fit, but am I going to have issues with it potentially being too long?

 

No it won't work, the JK stabilizer is too long. I've already issued a full refund through Paypal but it may take 1-3 days before you see it in your account.
