Default Steering question

What would cause a play in my steering? When I turn the wheel at slow speeds or sitting still I can hear a popping sound, while traveling at normal speeds it almost feels as if there is a delay in reaction, and the steering fluid is at normal level. I'm thinking tie rod ends, I recently added a 4.5" RE lift to the front and adjustable track bar. Thanks!!

Alignment would be the first thing I would do. Check castor via your adjustable arms and then set your toe. Is your track bar adjusted correctly?

Make sure the 3 bolts that hold the steering box are tight. Also verify that the spacer isn't broken. Drivers side frame rail, 3 bolts, should be all accessible without removing anything.

Have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you watch and see where the play is. Like the other posters said, get it aligned, too.

Did you not get or install adjustable control arms?

Find out what lift height you're at and adjust your track bar by the manufactures specs.
