Default steering problems!

Every time I am taking a turn (left or right) at slower speeds I hear a knocking sound. Dont know if something is going to break on me... i just need to fix it. Any ideas of what it could be and how to fix it?

i think its probably a bad cv joint
does it only occur when your driving??
does the noise occur while you're parked??

also, jack up your front end and wobble each tire side to side, no movement should occur, if there is movement you probably have bad tie-rods and they need to be replaced.

check the ball joints by lifting one wheel at a time, using leverage (pipe and block of wood) see if the wheel will rock in and out (towards the springs) the wheel should hold firm to its alignment

it occurs both when I am driving and when I'm parked. i jacked up the front end yesterday and turned the wheel back and fourth and it still made the noise...

check all your steering linkage have a friend turn the wheel and see if anything is loose or try and isolate the noise then we may be able to help alittle better

Knocking while steering is synonymous with CV joints, however mine does it because of a messed up track bar and shocks. Could be a number of things but unfortunately CV is usually the culprit. Also as a free precaution check the bolts on your steering box...
