Default Steering issues

I have had 4 cherokees, and every one has had steering problems, either clunking when i turned the steering wheel, or the fluid resevoir leaking, or just a sloppy steering wheel. Is this a common problems for cherokees? Or am i just doomed for steering?

The popping is likely ball joints.

Well I think I need to just get the ZJ tie rod and draglink upgrade, new gear box, new ball joints, axle u-joints, bearing/hub, pitman arm and basically rebuilt the whole steering...
