Default Steering damper mount?

Long story short, I snapped the shaft on my steering damper, and bent my outer tie rod. Well, now I can't get the remainder of my damper off the damper mount which just unbolts from the tie rod. What the hell am I supposed to do with this thing? Where can I get another one?

The steering dampener attaches to the drag link, is this what you are referring too?

The best way to get this off is by using a big hammer and just having at it, I also used a pickle fork.

No, the mount is off the drag link, which comes up in my computer at work as an outer tie rod. Whats left of the snapped off damper is still attached to that mount. I don't know how to remove it from the mount.

Where the damper attaches to the tie rod, that one in the pics has an aftermarket mount, how do i remove the damper from the factory mount?

Maybe if what is left of the mount is big enough try a vise?

Didn't work. The stud just spins freely in the rubber 'eye' mount of the damper.

Damn it. I feel like such an ***. I just looked at the new damper and it came with a new mounting kit... Wow. Go me, haha.

Ah thats what you were talking about. I was a bit confused. But im curious do you run a currie setup or are you getting a currie setup?

As a note for the future I do believe that every aftermarket SS comes with a new mounting kit

Ya know, I KNEW it had one. I was just getting into tearing it all apart today, and thought I had to reuse that old mount (been a long day). I'm not running a currie setup, nor do I plan on it. My truck isn't hardcore enough for all that. I was just pushing it beyond its limits this past weekend and ended up breaking something. All factory steering here!

Well if you are going to replace parts and want a cheap upgrade, the ZJ tie rod bolts right up and it is stronger then the stock XJ tie rod.

Hmm, thanks for the tip. Though I've already got it back together, aligned, and riding like a dream now. Thanks for the help though.
