Default steering column swap?

I am needing to change out my old wobbley column in my 90 model, I found a good one from a 93. Any unforeseen problems with this changeover or is it as straightforward as it seems? thanks, zim

Yeah, check your set screws.

Other than that, they should be the same.

Wow! thanks everyone, I'm gonna run out and check the set screws right now then go from there. BTW it is loose in the pivot joint of the tilt assembly.

straight forward if your convinced you need to replace it..... 2 set screws under the dash below the instrument cluster... and then 2 bolts at the firewall inside the cab... then you either need to loosen the clamp for the steering shaft at the power steering pump or at the firewall where the steering wheel out-put is (its easier to just lay under the front of the jeep and turn the steering wheel till you can get to the clamp on the power-steering pump)
also make sure all the wire harness's are removed from the top-side of the column under the dash board b4 you remove lol i was in a hurry last time and split my harness "DOH!"

OK, it is the steering wheel that is loose. But it is loose in the "joint" that allows it to tilt. If I shine a light down into the column with the wheel tipped down all the way, I can see some parts that look to be all cracked and missing some pieces The guy that I bought it from was very large and I believe he hung on the wheel while getting in and out. (the driver's seat also has a broken back and floor mount) It steers fine but must be fixed asap. zim
edit: should I look for a whole column or just the parts from the broken joint assembly?

i went through the same problem with my 90.
i just figured it would be easier to just swap out the column and shaft right down to the steering box with one from my parts jeep. but was an 89 limited.
bonus was the leather wrap wheel.

but however, the 93 has a different key, but i believe that "should" be the only difference. but who knows, at that point chrysler had their mitts all over jeep.
