I recently purchased a manual '91 Jeep Comanche. Previous owner was using a screwdriver pushed down against a metal tab under the lock plate (removed) in order to turn the key in the ignition. That metal tab was actuated by a small white plastic cog that, in turn, was actuated by the key turning in the ignition. That tab actuated the steering lock and ignition ( i believe).The metal tab broke (in blue circled hole), i can't extract the ignition cylinder. Do i need to replace the entire steering column ? I was told those metal tabs are no longer available .
