Steering Column Help
The steering column on my 91 Cherokee Laredo needs to be tightened/replaced badly. It seems to me that it is easier to replace the entire thing, since chances are I'm going to open it up to tighten it and need to replace it anyway, right?
I found a column at a junkyard-anyone have any advice about what tools I need to bring with me and how to go about pulling the entire column off?

What's loose. Is most likely just a abd U-Joint, which would be easier to change than a complet R&R of the collum. Are you positive it the collum and not the steering box

Is it flopping around where it tilts in the column. If it is goggle search GM tilt column repair. Easy fix, Only cost is bottle of lock tight and a $15 spring compressor.
i bet this is correct, mine had the same thing tighten the bolts inside and you'll be good. i just used a screwdriver to compress the spring for the lock
It basically flops around all over. The emergency flashers don't work, and the ignition is all messed up as well because of it, so there are a lot of things that are going to need to be tightened when I open it up. I was told that most likely I'm going to get in there to tighten the screws on the joint and its going to basically disintegrate in my hands. It's pretty severe, so I'd like to have the entire column from the junkyard on hand before I start pulling it apart, just in case.
