Steering box Swap
I have a 1990 XJ with 8.5 inches of lift and 35 inch tires. I noticed some clunking when I turn my steering wheel slightly left and right. It seems to be coming from the steering box.
Does any one know of a better steering box that will swap with the XJ box. Is it possible to rebuild it or am I going to be right back where I started from in a month.

X 2 ^^^ on above . That spacer is crap . If its not already broken , then take it out when you are there and have a machine shop fab one just like it out of steel . Or try TnT customs , I think they make one too . Durango box , yes . The XJ box isn't strong enough for that kind of wear and tear . If you are going to have it rebuilt , then do it with Red-Neck Ram and get hydro assist .

You need a steering box from a 98-99 durango with the V-8. It is a direct bolt on. I would also look at replacing the stock spacer with one that is steel.

x whatever on the durango box, also the YJ box works too. get yourself an inner steering box brace thats made out of beef metal, not plastic. and an outer steering box brace wouldnt hurt either.
