And increases the chances of you popping the bead.

wider is bad for airing down. a loose bead is no good. that is why if you run a 10" rim with a 12.50 tire they dont recommend airing down past 15psi

I'm just saying, if your advice is such a good, popular idea, how come there aren't tons of threads here praising its awesomeness? How come so many here suggest getting wider rims, and not keeping their stockers?

Oh, wait, it chews up the tires funny. Thats a great idea.

i would suggest getting wider rims if your gonna run wider tires like 12 and up. but for a 10.5 tire like stated below im cool with the steelies. no need to invest a ton of money in rims for me when its a mud vehicle.

google "poor man's beadlock".

people dont look into things. they also think wider tires on wide rims look "cool". they dont keep stock wheels because of the backspacing. most peole dont like running spacers. how does a 7" rim chew up tires. i ran 7" stock canyons with 12.50s w/ spacers. tire wore great and i could drop the pressure to 8 with no issues

Your link alone states they don't wear evenly.

So the same link you use to say this is good, also says its not good.

Just because you've tried things for 11 years doesn't make them good, nor does it make them right.

And what do spark plugs have anything to do with this?

I don't run any spark plugs. I run on hopes and dreams, and get 50+ mpg.
