starts then stalls, starts then stalls.........
My '99 Cherokee Sport was running fine then went out to start it one morning and it ran for about 1 minute and stalled. Started it again and same thing happened. Again, same result. Again and it ran for 2-3 minutes and died. Tried it with foot on the throttle and it still stalled. I know I've seen similar topics on this forum but I'm curious to know if this problem sounds any different.
Thanks,
Dana

Unfortunately, this happened at my place in New Hampshire and I had to leave it their and take my truck back home. Was hoping to figure a way to at least get it running when I go back up north this Saturday.

Fuel pressure is a possibility; (should be 49 psi, plus or minus 5 psi) so is throttle position sensor.
There are many possibilities but one of the top root causes of stalling is a marginal battery. And yes, you can have a battery strong enough to start the engine but marginal enough to not keep the engine management system happy and therefore the stall.
Have the battery LOAD TESTED. Any parts store will do this for free. Load testing is the only accurate way of determining battery condition.

I would never have even considered the battery as a possible culprit. I'm hoping to avoid my usual solution of throwing parts at the problem until something works. With the jeep being in NH it's miles away from auto parts stores and service stations.
