starting problem

starting problem
okay i just drove jeep around for a few min and tried to start again like 30 min ago and nothing happens when i turn key just turns lights and stuff on....could it be loose connection to starter or what? i know its got good battery it lights everything up fine

you could have blown a fuse, or bad connection to the starter. if you get no crank then it is the starter or a fuse, if you get a crank it can be a billion things.

Starting problem
That has happened to me. For some weird reason you have to depress the clutch pedal in order to complete the starting circuit. Sometimes this switch becomes faulty. So push the clutch down as far as it will go, turn the key then slowly raise the pedal. If it's this switch you'll find all of a sudden it will start. If not then the bendix may have stuck at the flywheel end, then you'll have to remove the starter and give it a good clean and grease, refit, then try again.
There must be some way of isolating this clutch/starter switch so that you don't have to depress the clutch every time to start the car. If anyone knows of a way - please let me know.

sounds like it could be the n.s.s. try pushing the shifter forward while trying to crank. or put it in neutral to rule out the n.s.s.

i dont have to push my clutch pedal to the floor or at all to start my jeep, didnt in my 88 either
