Well this is really getting old now. a couple months ago i was having trouble with my jeep starting. it would start everytime but the starter was so slow that i was afraid i would get stranded. so i figured it was the battery so i put a new one in. didn't fix it. i scheduled and appt. with my mechanic but before i went to him it started turning over normal again. not slow. but now a couple months later it is doing it again. it seems to get progressivly worse. right now it barely turns over but starts everytime. i don't get it and i'm at college now so funds are somewhat limited. any help would be much appreciative

but why would it do it 2 months ago and then come out of it and now do it again? how hard is it to change the starter? i really don't wanna have to pay someone to put one in for me. i wish this would have happened 3 months from now. the automotive program at school will fix your vehicles. you just pay for the part at cost!!! dam is ther a write-up for starter fixes?

Its actually the first starter i have ever changed in a vehicle. thought there would a lot more to it than that but i am happy now. fires right up like new. now i just gotta find my oil leak and my cause of misfire and she'll be 100% again!!! thanks guys for the help. Good that you got her done. My friend with the Jeep came over today so I thought I'd check those sizes. A bit late for you but may help others.
This is on a Grand Cherokee Laredo, the bottom bolt 14MM and the top 15 MM. Not sure why the difference. I am sure I had the right bolts. A bit dirty there. Any way a hand full of different size wrenches and one will fit.

Check those plug wires for the misfire issue. My jeep did that cause I had a bad spark plug wire. Fixed the problem by replacing them. Just do a good visual inspection before you get new ones just in case there fine, check for cracks, or worn or burnt spots.
