Starting issues
I'll try that check valve idea, semperfi. Thanks
I did change the ditributor cap and rotor this weekend just to make sure, and as I thought, that was not the problem!! Your idea sounds like a better shot.

Mines a bit older, Big Track, but that did the trick for me. I had fuel pressure issues due to faulty check valve on the in tank pump/sending unit. I installed the check valve at the fuel filter in under 5 minutes. I also went ahead and replaced the lock-ring gasket & gas cap at the same time and I havent had a problem since. On ebay, just search "fuel check valve" and you'll get plenty of hits, just find the size you need. Most were "Buy it now". $16.00 with shipping. Best of luck!

Hey Semperfi, I looked at the fuel line going to the tank and its all hard line until right at the tank. There is a small round (plastic coupling) that connects the hard metal line to a hard plastic line, right at the gas tank. Do you know if a check valve can be installed within the metal hard line? If not possible, then it looks like it will be tough to install it else where. Thanks

I put mine in the rubber line under the hood, just before the fuel rail. Also my hard line ends just before my D side rear wheel, where my filter is connected to the steel line with 2 short lengths of hose & returns to steel line to the tank after that. I know you can install it in the steel line, just cut out a section, pick up some fuel injection pressure hose & a couple or 4 hose clamps and put it where ever you like that's convenient for you...

just because the pump turns on does not mean its not a faulty pump the one thing you need to do is check and change the fuel screen in the tank its probably getting plugged up and it should start up fine after that but believe me its a jeep thing
