Starter is off, cleaned, and rebuilt. Wow it was nasty, couldn't even see the brushes for the oily, gooey mess!
On to the oil filter adapter - I can't bust it loose. Any suggestions?

Job done, thanks for all the input.
Ended up using a combo wrench over the T60 combo, and my 5' jack handle as a cheater. Popped right off.
After cleaning all the parts and reinstalling new, oiled, O-rings...everything went back together very nicely.
Starter works a lot better. Brushes are somewhat worn, and commutator is grooved from years of dirt. She'll work for awhile longer.

FYI, if you need to replace the starter in the future the early model one costs less and works fine. All you have to do is modify the terminal that the solenoid connects to.
