Default Starter Issue

So my wife flipped our 2000 Sport. I finally got around to it today, refilled all the fluids and the battery was dead. I started to jump it from my car and thought that maybe there was a short in the electrical wiring because of the sparks that followed when I connected the jumper cables. I checked all the problem areas where the car was smashed. The wiring seemed all good. So I finally just went for it and stuck them on. Without the keys even in the ignition the starter starts turning over the engine.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be caused by? The starter relay was my guess. I am not sure if that has anything to do with flipping the jeep over or not.

All the wiring is just fried. Rolling over could jumble around all sorts of connectors, causing a massive short. My guess is to just sort out all the wiring and hope the computer didn't burn out.

Does it have a remote start?

Mine does and will do the same thing (well, crank over and start) when I reconnect the battery cables after a repair. Scared the heck out of me the first time..........and second time months later.

Just a thought.

No remote start in the car. It flipped but just the roof got messed up. I'm pretty sure everything else is fine. If I pull the starter fuse all the other electronics work normally. So I don't think there is a problem with the computer. If I turn the key to on it will start, but the starter keeps going.
