Ok, I am having a problem starting the cherokee. The RPMs of the starter seem to be fine it just takes a minute or so of cranking to get the jeep to start. It has a brand new battery... anyone know what this would be??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Turn the key to Run and listen for the fuel pump to run, then stop. Once it stops, try starting it. If you don't let it run, it can't prime the fuel system, and it's like starting a carbureted vehicle without pumping it.
It could also be a dirty fuel filter causing starting issues. Does it have any issues when it's running?

yea I didnt even think to listen for the fuel pump
it doenst come on until I crank it about 3 times, 15 or 20 seconds each crank..... I will check the fuel fiilter.... would this be the fuel pump then??
Thanks!!

either fuel pump, check valve or leaky fuel injector.
check your fuel pressure at the rail first.
