my starter decided it wanted to die on me and i was wondering does anyone know where i can find one for a reasonable price?

i have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 2WD, 4.0 l6.
When i go to start its just a click sound and will not start.

 

might be a dead battery.

Might be dead, dead. Get the bat checked first before you go off buying a starter..

But if it is the starter, go to NAPA and get one.

Also try to shift through all your gears and then try to start in N. May need to cycle through gears once or twice to rule. out NSS

Figured, why not test free stuff lol.

 

What I do is smack my starter with a hammer once. It it starts its a bad starter. But as stated above. Could also be a dead battery or neutral safety switch

 

May need to clean battery terminals.
