Default stalling problem

Hi, I have a 96 cherokee xj and it has been stalling out on me while driving and sometimes at red lights, and occasionally hard to start. I just replaced the fuel filter and changed my spark plugs and wires about a month ago. I had it scanned at Advanced Auto Parts and they said, it ran a code for a O2 sensor circuit running high voltage. Would that be by problem? Or if not what would it be?

Thanks, Austin

What is the exact code? Might check the o2 sensor wiring harness and plug for damage.
Has the sensor been replaced recently?
Might also check the TPS signal voltage to make sure it's working right.

I had similar issues

try this right away, might help, might not, but its cheap, easy to do

1 - go to napa
2- buy 3 dollars worth of new battery clamps
3- go home
4-remove old battery clamps
5- install new ones.

it takes maybe 20 min to do, I found the positive and negative wires were corroded and not getting good connection

my jeep had similar issues as you mention....some clean wires and 2 new battery clamps and it runs better now than it ever did

even if it dont fix your problem, atleast you know you have good connections

Chase and resolve every single code. Failure to do so can result in the chasing of your tail.

Oxygen sensors don't last forever. They have a finite lifespan of between 100-150k depending on efficiency of the engine. NTK is the best choice for a replacement oxygen sensor. Replace BOTH of them while you're at it. If one is failing, the other is not far behind. Be sure to inspect all oxygen sensor wiring as well.

my jeep was stalling out on me while driving and at red lights. The problem was the crank pos sensor.
