The A/C unit in my 89 Jeep Cherokee has not worked or probably had coolant in it for more than 15 years. Don't really need A/C where we live so never had to fix it. The A/C compressor has been making chirping sounds like crickets under the hood that have continued to get louder and louder. I do not want to spend the money to have the A/C system fixed but was wondering if there is a product that I can put into the A/C system that would restore the oil lubricant that used to be in there?

 

The clutch hub would be only thing spinning if Ac not engaged.Sure its just not belt chirping ?

 

At first I thought it was a belt sound but after further investigation I found it was coming from the A/C compressor. It could be a bearing in the wheel that is attached to the compressor. It doesn't affect vehicle performance and kind of comes a goes. It is more embarrassing for my daughter when the other kids at school call it the "Squeaker". I told her to tell them that at least she has a vehicle.... I always know when she gets home at night!

 

Needs to be fixed b4 it locks up then you got a broke down jeep and tow bill.Bad thing about 1 belt systems.

 

fix that sucker and save your daughter too, lol. If that baby lets loose or freezes up it could do some damage.
