Have a pretty loud squeal when I turn the a/c or heat on in my 97 and I'm just wondering how to fix it or at least understand what it is that is causing the squeal any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Open the good and with the engine running, move the linkage for the throttle and listen for where the squeal is coming from, if it's coming from the front, it's the belt
That showed me its the belts, what belts or belt would be causing it to squeal. I couldn't see cause it was dark. Thank you for the help!

LOL. You only have one belt. It may just be loose. In the daylight, look & see if you see any cracks in it. If so, replace, if not, tighten it.
EDIT: ODGreen beat me to it.
