Default squeak and shudder

hi guys , new to forum . i have a cherokee 2000 , 4.0 L . two problems .
1 , squeaking sound coming from either engine or transmission ? have ruled out loose belt , tensioner etc , as i removed the belt and the squeaking noise is still there ???????
2 , when i accelarate from stop , there is some sort of "shudder" . you only feel it , there is no "clunk" (u-joints) . as if something is slipping ?????

would really appreciate the help

Pull the front driveshaft and drive it. I'm thinking its the cv center ball in the front drive shaft that is bad. Sounds like a ticked off sparrow when you accelerate.

thanks for reply ......

maybe i should give more info

vehicle is in "park" . start engine , then squeak starts . sounds the same as a loose belt , but this is not the case , as it makes the same "squeak" eventhough i remove the belt and start the engine ???

secondally , when i accelarate fast , there is this shudder or slippage . you only feel it , no strange noises . it only last for few seconds , then is gone when i decelerate .

thank you

Got an Idea make a video of the sqeaking sound and host it on photobucket or what not then post it on here. Then we will know the noise. I am sure someone has had that problem before.

A shudder on acceleration would be driveline related. Check the rear driveshaft. U-joints may be tight but could be seized or pinion angle is off causing these vibes. Are you lifted at all?

OK 4" lift. Does it have any rear driveshaft modifications, like sye or drop?

no , not to my knowledge . weird thing just happened ..... took jeep for drive . stayed in 1\2 drive . drove vehicle at 3000 - 4000 RPM . squeaky noise went away ....... then when stopped at home and idled , the noise came back again . now am really stumped . my thoughts are leaning towards something with the oil pump . higher pressure at higher RPM = noise goes away . then seems when oil pressure drops - noise comes back again . does this make sense ?????

Sometimes a fan clutch going bad can sound like a squealing belt.

Surprised nobody else mentioned it but......my tcase linkage makes all kinds of noises at Idle and when first accelerating.....sounds almost like marbles in a coffee can, with a slight squeek to it sometimes when I start the Jeep and shut it off. I know it's the linkage as I can take the handle and just barely move it up (not putting it in 4HI or anything)...just moving the handle to where there is barely any pressure on it, and the marbles go away.

As for the shudder.....4" on a 2000 you more than likely need a SYE. Sounds like to me your u-joints on the drive shaft are binding up and you only really feel it when accelerating. Even though you just replaced them, they're probably still binding (I went through all of this shudder with my last lift too before I did a SYE).

At the very least, a transfer case drop of probably 1".
