Well....it depends on A) What transfercase you have (NP231 or NP242), and B) How much money you want to spend.

SYE's can be had for $150ish for the SYE and a driveshaft (The Rubicon Express Hack & Tap method), or a few hundred dollars more for a SYE that replaces the entire output shaft, with a new driveshaft as well.

If you have the 231, you have several options. If you have the 242, your options are really limited to about 2.

i have had a similar issue where i had a bad motor mount. the motor would shake and the whole car would feel it.

thanks to all that replied . seems i have solved the "shudder" problem . i dropped the TC . but , the squeak is still there . think i will replace oil pump , cause have noticed the oil pressure is down , once the engine heats up . lets hope this solves it ????????

What is your Oil pressure at?

solved squeak
well , seems i have solved the squeak problem . changed the oil . reversed vehicle up steep bank . put in park , revved engine a couple of times . noise has gone .

only thing i can think of is oil did not get to the front top of engine ( cause of engine angle downward) but , still dont know what was squeaking . anyway , has gone for now . lets hope it stays that way . hope this can help someone in future with same problem
