after a wheeling trip i noticed a squeak develop on my 96 cherokee, only squeaks when the jeep is moving, above about 15mph, cant figure out if its from the front or back cause it only makes it when its moving. checked the brakes, they are all clean, all the pulleys seem good, nothing loose. its been doin this for about three weeks now and its driving me insane. bout to head down to obx next week so im tryin to get it fixed in time for the trip. id appreciate any help, thanks

 

Its either a drive line u joint or the CV ball in the front drive line start there grease every thing real good.You need a needle grease fitting to get it into that ball real good.

 

Suspension squeak?
Rear shackle... Try jumping on the rear bumper... it will tell you really quick. Douse the shackle top and bottom with WD40 and jump on the bumper until it stops.

Or do you suspect it to be drive line related?

 

suspension squeaks a little, but thats not it, going to grease the hell outta the driveshaft and cv ball

 

it was the cv ball in the front driveshaft, took a needle fitting and went to town, good looks, i was about to go nuts cause i couldnt figure out what the heck was makin the squeek
