Hey everyone I’m new to the page and trying to figure it out! But anyway I have a 93 XJ that I just bought. It has a sputtering issue that I’m trying to fix. If I floor it or even some acceleration it will sputter, but if I ease into and keep the pedal at a constant pace it won’t sputter. I change my spark plugs and wires so far. It doesn’t lose power just sputters. Trying to figure out what should be the next step!

 

Welcome! I have to run but will try to give you some suggestions first thing in the morning Sir. There are several things you will need to check and maybe I can help with this.

This sounds more like it could be a fuel pressure issue.

 

My next step is to get new injectors run some Seafoam through it and clean the throttle body.

 

Before you do all that, I would just check your pressure first. It could just be a pressure regulator or fuel pump problem. Does it have a fuel filter that could be clogged?

 

Looks look it was the IAC!!

 

Did you just clean it or did you have to replace it?
