spotlight wiring question
Hi, ive just mounted two small spotlights between the headlights infront of the grill, nothing amazing just some extra light :-) i know really i should wire through a new relay and switch but can the old wiring take me just jumping of the existing loom without any problems ?
thanks A.

hi, thanks. i only got the cherokee in feb and im waiting till it needs its yearly test to see wether its worth sending any money on, once it passes ill get lots of lights and wire them properly !! i just need some extra lumens for now - i live in a town 25 miles from the city i work and sometimes get up early with all sorts of crazy animals out and about !!
A headlight wiring upgrade harness would also help w/ the low output of the HDL's.

if you dont run them off the fuse block you will be fine without a relay. I have lots of lights and I have wired with relays but they always give me s%$#! this is how I do it battery---> fuse housing by battery ---> hot wire through the firewall---> connect one side to 10 amp switch---> connect another wire to other side of switch---> run the wire to lights and set grounds. its really easy!!! if you use heavier gauge wire like 10 you will be fine! and then you can turn them on with out your car being on to which is handy. what kind of lights? Bajas? 15 AMP should do it. if you took the lights apart and re wired the inside ground and hot lead with 10 gauge then maybe push 20 AMP. for my 4 Bajas on my bumper I run 25 AMPS to them but I beefed up the wiring. still stock bulbs but theyre almost brighter than my overheads.
