I'm currently at work as a delivery driver and an having weird charging issues.
While I was driving my voltage would drop to 9, and my check gauges light came on. But each time I turned it it off and on it would shoot right back up to 14. This has happened a few times over the past few weeks but its happening almost every time I drive today.
Now the gauge is hovering around 11.5 volts.
My alternator was replaced a year ago. I do make a good amount of short trips but I often leave the Jeep running if I'm just stopping for a delivery and I do make a good amount of longer trips.
Also today a squeal started somewhere around the front end of my Jeep. Thinking its the front drive shaft since its only while accelerating at lower speeds. Don't think an alternator would make the type of noise

I would check the bearing on the alternator itself. I had a problem sometime ago with my alternator.
I was driving after playing in the mud and as i drove from the mud road to the regular street when i cam to a stop sign the jeep almost turned off on me. So i pulled over and checked the whole thing. Go figure there was a rock wedged in between the alternator and its fin, popped it off and sort of good as new lol
